摘要
Supported Pt catalysts were covered with hydrophilic or hydrophobic silica layers. Both silica-coated Pt catalysts showed high tolerance to high-temperature sintering of Pt metal particles. The coverage with hydrophobic silica enhanced the activity of Pt catalysts for alkene hydrogenation in hydrophilic solvents. The coverage of supported Pt catalysts with silica layers improved the tolerance to sintering of Pt metal particles at high temperatures. In addition, the activity of supported Pt catalysts for alkene hydrogenation in solvents with high permittivity was enhanced by coverage with hydrophobic silica layers.
