from 54.3 and 17.6% in the control to 63.0 and 33.8%, respectively. Furthermore, the expression of genes involved in carbon dioxide reduction and alcohol dehydrogenation increased by 0.6- and 7.1-fold, respectively. Taken together, this study indicates the positive effects of QS chemicals to stimulate DIET and advances the understanding of the DIET methanogenesis involved in environments such as anaerobic digesters and sediments.
