Reaction mechanism of bisphenol A type cyanate ester and phenols

The reaction mechanism of bisphenol A type cyanate ester and phenols was investigated by HPLC,MS,NMR.The possible reaction equation was proposed.The result showed that the phenols played a catalytic role in the initial reaction of the system,however,they staying in the three-dimensional network by the form of iminecarbanate played the modified role actually in the later reaction.Phenols could not only catalyze the trimerization of cyanate groups,but also modify the cyanate ester resin.
