Thegoaloftheexperimentwastocharacterizethe� efficiencyofphytoremediationtechnologiesbyquan tifying� themajorgroupsofrhizospheremicroorganisms.� Anintegratedphytoremediationexperimentincludingphysical,� chemicalandbiologicaltreatmentswas� developedonaminewaste.�Threeparcelswereestab lished:�1.�minewaste;�2.�minewasteplusflyash;� 3.�mine� wasteplusflyashpluslime.�Todeterminethenumb erofheterotrophicbacteriaandmicroscopicfungi� plate� countmethodwasused.�Twotailedcorrelationanaly sisbetweensoilchemicalandmicrobiologicalprope rties� wasstudied.�Theshootdryweightofplantswasris enseveraltimesasaresultofintegratedphytorem ediation� treatments.� OurresultsindicatedtherelationshipbetweenplantshootdryweightandCFUnumberof� rhizospheremicrobes.�Modifyingthephysicalandch emicalcharacteristicsofminewastehadapositiveeffect � onthequantityofrhizospheremicroorganisms.� Itw asconcluded,� that rhizospheremicroorganisms,� as� mediatorsinplantsoilinteractions,�indirectlyco uldindicatetheefficicncyofphytoremediationtec hnologies.�
