摘要
AI code generation tools are reshaping the software engineering landscape. We report on the promises, use cases, and concerns about these tools through narratives that we have collected regarding two AI code generation tools, GitHub Copilot and Tabnine. For this, we study data we collected from Twitter over the last 18 months. Based on our analysis, we provide recommendations for software practitioners. We hope that our study inspires practitioners to try these tools but to also keep in mind some of the trade-offs in using these tools for professional software development.
