Histological observation on the oogenesis and oocyte apoptosis of atractomorpha sinensis Bolivar

The oogenesis and oocyte apoptosis of Atractomorpha sinensis Bolivar were observed by using routine histological techniques.According to the size of oocyte,the morphology of nucleolus,vitellogenesis and the morphology of follicle cells,the oogenesis can be divided into 3 phases and 8 stages.Moreover,the microstructure of oocyte and follicle cells at each stage were described in detail.Oocyte apoptosis occurs in oocyte growth phase in which the characters present the multiplicative growth of follicle cells into oocytes,cytoplasmic inhomogeneity and the appearance of cavity in cytoplasm.
