Electron Microscopic Scanning Studies on the Semens of Scutelleria baicalensis Georgi and Scutellaria viscidula

ObjectiveTo provid a morphology characteristics evidence for the identification of the seeds of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi and Scutellaria viscidula.MethodsScanning electron microscope(SEM) were used to identify the two kinds of seeds.ResultsIt showed that the seeds of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi differed from the seeds of Scutellaria viscidula in the super micro-structure of the surface.ConclusionSEM is an effective method to identify the two kinds of seeds.
