Rapid Preparation and Characterization of Single-layered Graphene Oxide

Graphite oxide was prepared from graphite by way of the Hummers method and then dispersed by using ultrasonic cell crusher to produce graphene oxide.The graphite oxide and graphene oxide were characterized by FTIR and AFM.The results suggest that graphite was oxidized into graphite oxide containing C=O,—COOH,C—OH and C—O—C;the graphene oxide can readily form stable colloidal suspensions with high concentration in distilled water.Graphene oxide in the shape of snowflake was obtained by using high frequency.It will provide foundation for the study of its functionality.
