Arbitrary spectral separation of upper and lower sidebands in linear modulation

A technique to spectrally separate the sidebands in amplitude and narrow-band frequency modulation is presented. With this technique, the upper and lower sidebands can be right and left shifted respectively by an arbitrary amount and thus either sideband can be selected by a bandpass filter.
