Organocatalytic Multiple Cascade Reactions: A New Strategy for the Construction of Enantioenriched Tetrahydrocarbazoles

Abstract A novel cascade Friedel–Crafts alkylation/Michael addition/aromatization reaction of 2‐vinylindoles with α,β‐unsaturated aldehydes has been developed for the construction of functionalized tetrahydrocarbazoles. The products were obtained in up to 97% yield and with excellent stereoselectivities ( ee up to>99%, dr up to>99:1).
