This study performs Numerical Simulation to investigate the generation mechanism of side-jets and represents the breakdown of large scale vortices that is one of the generation mechanism. The turbulence model of the numerical simulation employs DNS to represent vortices in the flow field. Numerical conditions are referred to Muramatsu et al. condition. Consequently, side-jets are generated between two longitudinal vortices. And these vortices are generated by the instability of large scale vortices of inlet surface and are larger than longitudinal vortices of surroundings.
