Associations between hyperlipemia and retinal pigment epithelium-Bruch membrane-choroid complex

Hyperlipemia is a major risk factor of many ocular disorders,it closed related to many ocular fundus diseases,and there have been many studies about the associations between hyperlipemia and retinal pigment epithelium-Bruch membrane-choroid complex.The researchers found that hyperlipimia can induce morphological changes of retinal pigment epithelial cells,particles deposition in Bruch membrane and integrity breakup,and induce the damage of the endothelial cells of choroid blood vessel.This article reviews the recent advances in hyperlipemia on retinal pigment epithelium-Bruch membrane-choroid complex and provides insight into this kind of disease.
