Abstract Transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) nanosheets have attracted attention as novel inorganic materials. In this study, solid‐solution TiS 2− x Se x nanosheets were prepared using a liquid phase exfoliation method. The bulk TiS 2− x Se x was synthesized by solid‐state reaction between Ti, S, and Se. The obtained bulk TiS 2− x Se x was exfoliated to form TiS 2− x Se x nanosheets either by ultrasonic treatment or by Li intercalation. Transmission electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy measurements showed that monolayer TiSSe nanosheets were formed by the Li intercalation exfoliation method.
