Is Prioritarianism a Conception of Equality more Reasonable than Egalitarianism?——An Open Discussion with Professor YAO Dazhi

The relationship between prioritarianism and egalitarianism is one of the most important and debatable questions in the realm of contemporary political philosophy.Regarding this question,Professor Yao Dazhi claims that prioritarianism is a conception of equality more reasonable than egalitarianism.In my view,however,prioritarianism is not a conception of equality.It's just a policy of distribution which gives priority to those who are worse-off.On the other hand,egalitarianism is a just principle of distribution approved by egalitarians-equal distribution is just,otherwise,unjust.There is no such question as to which one is more reasonable between prioritarianism and egalitarianism.
