摘要
The rapid extinction of secondary arc on the transmission line is essential to the stable operation of power system. Recently, there are a few specific designs of secondary arc prevention device applied into operation condition. In this article, a low-voltage secondary arc model was carried out and the wind load was found to have a significant influence on the extinction characteristics of secondary arc. For further analysis, a dynamic model was established and found that the wind load perpendicular to the electrode direction could significantly accelerate the arc extinction. Consequently, a device for accelerating secondary arc extinction close to the insulator was designed. Wind directions and velocities were chosen as variables in the measurement for verification. The device could ensure that the upper electrode on the insulator string is in the direction perpendicular to the wind direction at any time, and it could promote the extinction of secondary arc. The proposal of the device could provide some practical reference for the protection of secondary arc on the transmission lines.
