Terawatt Class Ti: sapphire Laser.

A Ti: sapphire laser is a tunable, high power, ultrashort laser which can be applied to various researches such as high-order harmonic generation, hot dense plasma generation etc. The recent results of Ti: sapphire and Cr: LiSAF were summarized. The details of a Ti: sapphire laser system, which is now being developed in our instiute, is described with the preliminary results of harmonic generation.
