Advances in the study of stromal fibroblasts on breast cancer initiation and progression

Carcinoma-associated fibroblasts(CAFs) is an vital part of the stroma in breast cancer.There is a big differences in the biological features between the normal mammary fibroblasts and carcinoma-associated fibroblasts.CAFs plays a critical role in tumor initiation,growth,metastasis and prognosis as well.Recently,researches suggest that CAFs contribute to efficacy of antitumor therapy and targeting CAFs may become a viable approach for tumor treatment.
