On-line beam measurement of critical laser beam properties

The characterisation of industrial laser beams is soon to become a necessary step as manufacturing industries around the world improve the quality assurance of production processes. Laser beam characterisation is made possible with the development of high-speed on-line laser beam measuring device that is capable of measuring critical beam parameters during processing operations. The dynamic behaviour of freely and guided propagating laser beams is characterised using the device. In addition to the results of system performance and capability, case studies for online process monitoring are given.
