A research on cut off value of thyroid stimulating hormone for newborn congenital hypothyroidism screening in Jilin province

Objective To determine cut off value of thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH) for screening of congenital hypothyroidism(CH) of newborn in Jilin province.Methods The foot blood samples were obtained at 72 hours after birth and sufficient breast feeding to detect the content of TSH.Results 30 000 neonates were screened,the cut off value of TSH for screening of congenital hypothyroidism of newborn in Jilin was 9.0 mIU /L.Conclusion The TSH cut off value was adjusted to 9.0 mIU /L.The determination of TSH cut off value provided a basis for screening of congenital hypothyroidism among the newborns in Jilin.
