Japanese businesses’ investment in China witnessed three booms during the time from the 1980s to the mid-1990s before it slowed down towards the end of the 1990s.The fourth boom of Japanese businesses’ investment in China did not occur until December,2001,when China’s entry into WTO started to exert its stimulation effect.New characteristics have been observed of Japanese businesses’ investment in China during this period in such respects as investment motive,investment size,the structure of the industries and regions being invested in,etc.
