The Effect of Bone Marrow Stromal Cells of Mice with 15% TBSA Degree Burn on the Growth of Granulo-monopoietic Progenitors

Objective To investigate the effect of bone marrow stromal cells of mice with 15% TBSA degree burn on the growth of granulo-monopoietic progenitors. Methods The culture and confluent of the stromal cell of the mice bone marrow and semi-solid culture of the colony-forming unit of granulo-monopoietic progenitors (CFU-GM) in vitro were employed. Results The number of normal bone marrow CFU-GM on the surface of stromal cells layer in burned mice was significantly reduced as compared with controls at the days 1,3,5,7,10 post injury;whereas the burned mice bone marrow CFU-GM under the same cultural condition were also decreased at the days 1-5,but at days 7 and 10 the number was recovered and increased,respectively.The differences of the effect of bone marrow stromal cells and GM-CSF on the growth of CFU-GM were also investigated. Conclusions The supporting function of bone marrow stromal cells on CFU-GM is impaired under the condition of 15% TBSA degree burn in mice.
