The effect of boric acid in the soil on the growth of second-year plants of curly birch (Betula pendula Roth var. carelica (Mercklin) Hamet-Ahti), silver birch (Betula pendula Roth) and downy birch (Betula pubescens Ehrh.), and accumulation of boron in their parts has been studied. Distinctive patterns of boron take-up by curly birch, silver birch and downy birch have been identified.
