Leak tightness of elastomeric seal at low temperature: Experimental and FEM-simulation

In many industrials applications such as in aerospace, nuclear applications (Jaunich, 2010) (Momon, 2011), Oil & Gas exploration or in automotive (Laurent, 2008), it is required to remain leak-proof whatever the environmental conditions, notably at low temperature. It is now quite common that sealing products must ensure tightness during a long time period down to −50°C.
