Effect of Baduanjin combined with singing therapy on respiratory function of COPD patients

Objective: To explore the effect of traditional Chinese medicine Baduanjin training and singing therapy on pulmonary function and dyspnea in stable COPD patients. Methods: 76 patients with stable COPD were randomly divided into control group and experimental group, 38 cases in each group. The control group received health education and routine drug treatment, including bronchodilators and glucocorticoids, combined with reasonable antibiotic treatment. The experimental group received Baduanjin exercise combined with singing therapy on the basis of the control group. The training dose was twice a day, 40 minutes each time, for a total of 5 months. The lung function and dyspnea degree of the two groups before and after intervention were analyzed and compared. Results: Before the experiment, there was no significant difference between the two groups in the lung function indexes of FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC.( P > 0.05 ). There was significant difference in the degree of dyspnea between the two groups after the experiment (P < 0.05). The degree of dyspnea of the experimental group was statistically different before and after the experiment.( P < 0.05 ). Conclusion: Baduanjin exercise can improve the degree of dyspnea and delay the decline of lung function in patients with stable COPD of lung and spleen qi deficiency syndrome. Baduanjin exercise combined with singing therapy of COPD patients can improve their quality of life and physical performance. Key Words: COPD; Baduanjin; Singing Therapy; Pulmonary Rehabilitation
