Experimental Study on CO2 Absorption and Regenation of Aqueous Solutions of Potassium Glycinate

Absorption of CO2with amines has been extensively studied in recent years because of environmental concern of global warming. The investigation of CO2absorption by potassium glycinate (PG) aqueous solution with different concentrations (1.0~3.0 mol/L) was conducted in a CO2absorber, and the regeneration performance of PG aqueous solution after CO2absorption by means of heating was studied. And the absorption performance difference between PG aqueous solution and several other commonly used aqueous alkanolamine solutions were discussed. The results showed that CO2absorption of PG aqueous solution was higher than that of MDEA aqueous solution and was little lower than that of MEA aqueous solution. The PG aqueous solution with higher concentration had higher absorption capacity, whereas lower absorption liquid CO2loading. Among three kinds of concentration, regeneration rate of 1 mol/L PG aqueous solution was highest. Regeneration rate of PG aqueous solution was better than that of MEA aqueous solution and lower than that of MDEA aqueous solution.
