Karl Koenke LJJ The term dyslexia has at least three meanings, according to the Dictionary of Reading and Related Terms (Harris and Hodges [ED 207 036]). Dyslexia can mean severe reading disability caused by central nervous system dysfunction, severe reading disability with unspecified causes, or reading problems regardless of severity due to any cause. Physicians generally use the term in the first sense, while many psychologists use it in the second. Educators might be in either camp, or they might join the general populace which is thought to hold to the third definition.
