Dinaphtho[2,1-b:1′,2′-d]thiophenes as high refractive index materials exploiting the potential characteristics of “dynamic thiahelicenes”

A dynamic thiahelicene DNT was found to show extra-high refractivity. Derivatization of DNT yielded new vinyl monomers and polymers with excellent properties, indicating DNT as a novel unit structure for halogen-free high refractive index materials.
