Reaction pathway of hydrogenation reaction of 2,4-dinitrotoluene(2,4-DNT) and influence of operational conditions on its reaction rate were investigated by using Ni/kieselgur as the reaction catalyst.A reaction course was proposed by means of GC-MC analysis, where the 2,4-toluene diamine(2,4-TDA) was synthesized by adding hydrogen to the 2,4-DNT.The influence of operational conditions on the reaction rate was examined with initial rate analysis method and its result showed that under optimal experimental condition with such a mixing speed as 1 500 r/min,the reaction entered into its intrinsic region and the reaction rate increased linearly with the catalyst dosage as well as increased with the pressure and temperature. The temperature and catalyst dosage had a key influence on the hydrogenation reaction of 2,4-DNT.
