摘要
Abstract Bone healing encompasses fracture repair, regeneration of bone defects, and restoration of the bone at the implant interface following surgery. Traditional treatments can promote bone healing to some extent. However, these therapies are still associated with certain limitations. RNA‐based therapies emerge as a promising strategy for bone healing. This review provides a comprehensive and updated overview of the cutting‐edge RNA‐based therapeutic strategies for bone healing. First, various RNA modalities that promote bone healing, including non‐coding RNA, messenger RNA, aptamers, and CRISPR/Cas9 technology are described. Second, it emphasizes that material‐based RNA delivery platforms, such as extracellular vesicles, lipid carriers, inorganic nanoparticles, and hydrogels, play an important role in improving the therapeutic effect of bone healing. Finally, key challenges are discussed and future directions that could facilitate the development of next‐generation RNA delivery materials are proposed. This review aims to provide scientific insights into the development of innovative RNA delivery materials for bone healing applications.
