Spectral methods for modelling guided waves in elastic media

An efficient, accurate, and flexible numerical scheme based on spectral methods is developed here to determine dispersion curves and displacement/stress profiles for modes in elastic guiding structures, possibly curved, layered, damped, inhomogeneous, or anisotropic. Numerical examples and comparisons with existing techniques are given to demonstrate the efficiency and flexibility of the scheme.
