Halides in SHS Azide Technology of Nitrides Obtaining

The investigations on the use of inorganic halides of various types have been carried out in the systems “element(s) – sodium azide” for obtaining nitrides, nitride–nitride compositions, and “element(s) – carbon–sodium azide” for obtaining carbonitrides and nitride–carbide compositions. It was found that the addition of halides into initial mixture allows obtaining the final refractory powders with higher purity and specific surface. The fibrous structure is typical for most of them.
