Chiral materials: Recent progress in structural analysis and emerging new technologiesThis special issue collects original contributions on several aspects of chiral materials, such as synthesis, structural characterization, chiroptical properties, theoretical investigations, and applications.Chiral materials have received extraordinary attention in recent years for their appealing technological applications such as circularly polarized light emission or detection, electron spin filtering, chiral electrochemical sensing, chiral magnets, telecommunications, and so forth.Such applications are often easily tunable by modifying the material composition and can be tailored towards high efficiency.Another key aspect of chiral materials is their wide structural diversity: they span from small organic molecules and organometallic complexes, to conjugated oligomers and polymers, blends of small chiral molecules and polymers, perovskites and other hybrid metal-halide materials, bioconjugated substances, radical species, and many others.This special issue contains 29 articles and reviews by distinguished scientists from all over the World, which cover several diverse aspects related to chiral materials:
