Complete hair regrowth in a patient with severe alopecia areata treated with deucravacitinib

We report a case of complete hair regrowth in a patient with severe alopecia areata (AA) following treatment with deucravacitinib, a selective tyrosine kinase 2 (TYK2) inhibitor. Despite TYK2 not being traditionally implicated in AA pathogenesis, this outcome suggests potential immunomodulatory effects of TYK2 inhibition. The case underscores the need to explore novel pathways and off-target mechanisms in AA therapy.
