Experimental Study on Phosphorus Removal by White Mud——Wastes from Paper mills

To lower the trend of serious eutrophication of reservoirs,this paper studied the ability of white mud to remove phosphorus from wastewater.The effect of temperature,reaction time,pH,initial phosphorus concentration and quantity on the phosphorus removal by white mud was investigated.The results showed that white mud is effective to removal phosphorus,the higher the greater the removal capacity of white mud to phosphorus;when the water temperature was 25℃,amount of white mud used 8 g,under pH 8～10 condition,the efficiency of phosphorus removal rate reached about 75%.
