The two novel supramolecular complexes: [Cu(phen)2Cl]+·[C10H5O8]-and [Cu-(phen)2Cl]+·0.5[C10H4O8]2-have been synthesized by the reaction of Cu(phen)2Cl2 with pyromellitic dianhydride,in which Cu(phen)2Cl2 has been synthesized by hydrothermal method. The method of X ray power diffraction,IR spectra and X-ray crystal structure analysis were carried out to determine the composition and crystal structure of the two complexes. The two complexes belong to triclinic system with space group P-1.The copper atom changed six-coordinate in a distorted octahedral configuration to five-coordinate in a distorted trigonal bipyramidal configuration.Complex(2) through the dissociated pyromellitic acid hydrogen bonding between the ligand and the phen ligand stacking interaction between the formation of a 3D supramolecular structure, but the complex(3) is only through the phen ligand between the stacking structure of the formation of 3D supramolecular structure.
