Jacket platforms are critical infrastructures for offshore resource development. Due to extended service life and harsh marine environments, these structures experience degradation caused by aging. Ensuring the safe operation of aging jacket platforms is of great significance for maintaining offshore operational safety, reducing the likelihood of accidents, and lowering costs. However, the current safety management of aging jacket platforms suffers from limited system integration, low levels of intelligence, and poor timeliness, making effective maintenance challenging. To address these issues, the concept of Digital Healthcare Engineering (DHE) framework for aging jacket platforms is proposed in this work. By integrating advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, data management, wireless communication, and digital twins, this work presents a comprehensive solution to enhance the safety and sustainability of aging platforms. The concept of DHE for aging jacket platforms is elaborated in detail, comprising five key modules: (1) in-situ measurements of health parameters, (2) data transmission and communication, (3) data analytics and simulations using digital twin, (4) AI-based diagnosis and remedial action recommendations, and (5) predictive health condition analysis for future maintenance planning. This paper systematically reviews the current research status of each module and outlines a feasible technical roadmap. Furthermore, existing gaps and challenges are identified, providing directions for future development.
