Texas, a long standing exporter of petroleum energy, has begun to look for energy sources outside the state and ways of importing fuels and petrochemical raw materials to meet its growing energy and product requirements.This shift in source and type of energy is evidenced in the elec tric power generating capacity of the state.Ninety-five percent of existing power plants in the state are fired by natural gas.Table S-lshows additional planned power plant capacity projected through 1983.
