摘要
With the rapid increase of bicycle modal share in North America, the need for more refined models arises in order to capture and model cyclist behaviour on bike facilities. Hence, this paper presents a comparison of a set of six bike-following models. The results of these models was compared to real world data collected with GPS devices for a pair of cyclists in a following situation without opportunity to overtake. The paper also presents some findings on fundamental relationships using data collected by video at a fixed location on a bike facility. Finally, the paper presents a behavioural comparison between the bike-cyclist and the car-driver systems. The analysis and the results indicate that both bike-following models and fundamental relationships present interesting potentials to reproduce real world data given additional data.
