Objective To explore the expressions of estrogen receptor(ER),P53 gene and human epidermal growth factor receptor(HER-2) in breast cancer tissues treated by neoadjuvant chemotherapy and their clinical significance.Methods Expressions of ER,P53 and HER-2 were determined by immunohistochemistry in 100 breast cancer(BC) patients before and after neoadjuvant chemotherapy and their relationship to the effect.Results The overall response rate to neoadjuvant chemotherapy was 79%.There was significant difference in chemotherapeutic effect between patients with pre-chemotherapeutic positive and negative expressions of ER,P53 gene after chemotherapy(P0.05),but not between patients positive and negative expressions of HER-2(P0.05).No significant difference was noted in expressions of ER,P53 and HER-2 between pre-chemotherapy and post-therapy(P0.05).Conclusion Neoadjuvant chemo-therapy has not significant influence on expressions of ER,P53 and HER-2.ER and P53 are of some predictive value in effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy of breast cancer.
