Apoptosis induced by p21~(WAF1/CIP1) gene transfection on renal carcinoma cells

Aim: To study the role of p21WAF1/CIP1 genetransfection on renal carcinoma cells apoptosis. Methods:transelectronmicroscope. flowcytometry and elctophoresiswere used to observe cells apoptosis which induced bylipofection-mediated p21WAF1/CIP1 transfection in GRC- lcells.Results: Apoptosis cells could be seen by electron microscope,the DNA ladder appeared on electrophoresis, and anapoptotic peak appeared in front of G1 phase,the apoptoticcells accounted for 15. 3%. Conclusion: It confirmed thatthe overexpression of p21WAF1/CIP1 can induce apoptosis inGRC-1 cells.
