Abstract Block copolymers of polycapramide and polyaminotriazole (PAT) or polytriazole (PT) have been prepared by melt copolymerization. The degree of polymerization of the block copolymer which was obtained from PAT and ε‐caprolactam depended upon the size and molar fraction of PAT. The block copolymer exhibited poorer spinnability with increase in PAT content because of gel formation. However, easily melt‐spinnable block copolymer was obtained from ε‐caprolactam and PT which was prepared by deaminating PAT with nitrous acid. The fiber from the block copolymer exhibited characteristic properties in dyeability, moisture regain and modulus.
