Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth.) is a herbaceous plant of the Lamiaceae family with medicinal properties and widely used in the perfume industry due to the high value of its essential oi l. Histological studies are an important tool to assis t in the taxonomic characterization of species. The aim of this study was to realize the characterization o f secrete structures of patchouli leafs, accession POG015. The cross sections have shown that patchouli e ssential oil-producing glands are in the mesophyll, peltate glandular trichomes on both sides of the sh eet and capitate glandular trichomes only on the mi drib.
