Objective:To compare color doppler flow imaging and DSA diagnostic value in extracramial carotid stenosis.Methods:112 patients with suspected carotid stenosis were examined by CDFI and then digital subtraction angiography(DSA).Two results were analysed. Results:DSA was still the gold standard in the diagnosis.CDFI demonstrated carotid stenosis with sensitivity of 94.38%,specificity of 65.63%,accuracy of 86.16%,positive predictive 87.28%,and negative predictive 83.35%.Conclusion:CDFI is a senstive, repeatable, noninvasive method and can discriminated reason of stenosis.CDFI is suitable for initial detetion.DSA is the gold standard of carotid stenosis, which offers reliable informations.A combination CDFI and DSA provides details of carotid stenosis that is helpful to clinical management.
