Achieving simultaneous thermal management and robust flame retardancy in lightweight, sustainable materials remains a pressing challenge; herein, we present an integrated design of hierarchically porous cellulose aerogels functionalized with NH₂‑UiO‑66 for superior heat insulation and fire safety Herein, we report a multifunctional flame retardant phase-change cellulose aerogel (PCMA) with ultralow thermal conductivity, reduced thermal diffusivity, and superior fire safety. PCMA was prepared via an economical hydrothermal freeze-drying route, by incorporating a paraffin wax-based phase change component and NH2-UiO-66 (MOF) into nanocellulose sol, forming a hierarchical micro/nanoporous framework. The phase-change domains provide high latent heat storage and enhance specific heat capacity, significantly lowering thermal diffusivity and enabling efficient transient heat shielding. Under high heat flux, PCMA exhibited a thermal conductivity of 0.164 m
