The goal of the article is to substantiate measures to reduce fine fractures in the dust aerosol of coal preparation shops at coke plants, for which the dispersed composition of dust captured by the aspiration system of the coal preparation building was studied. It has been established that the dust particles in the car dumper building ranged in size from 0.1 µm to 22.5 µm, with a mode of 3–4 µm. The content of respirable dust particles up to 7.5 µm in size accounted for up to 95 %. To capture fine dust, a “dry fog” technology, based on sedimentation dust collection, is proposed for use. According to the studies, the sedimentation force for particles with a radius less than 40 µm is four orders of magnitude lower than the sedimentation force for particles with a radius of 250 µm. To increase the efficiency of dust coagulation at zero level, it is proposed to use a 0.1 % solution of wetting agent SP-01 for spraying instead of clean water.
