Invasion and localization of asiatic palm weevil Rhabdoscelus lineaticollis (Heller)

Asiatic palm weevil Rhabdoscelus lineaticollis(Heller) was a new alien pest in palm plants and caused serious damage to the hosts at some places in South China.Invasion and localization of the pest was studied and the results showed the probability of localization was high when the original population was more than 15 eggs per palm tree or a pair of adults successfully survived in one palm tree.
