TiO 2 /TiO 2 nanofibers (NF) and FePt/TiO 2 nanofibers (NF) were successfully prepared by the sol-gel method and electrospinning technology. Nanofibers were added to the photoanode of the dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) as an additional layer, and its effect on the DSSC characteristics were studied. FePt/TiO 2 nanofibers were determined using an X-ray diffractometer (XRD), confirming that the FePt nanoparticles were successfully doped into the TiO 2 nanofibers. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), J-V characterization and incidental photon to current efficiency (IPCE) measurements showed how the FePt/TiO 2 nanofibers improved the DSSC photovoltaic characteristics. The photoanode modified with FePt/TiO 2 showed improved photoelectric conversion efficiency (η). Compared with unmodified DSSCs (TiO 2 only photoanode), the η improved by 16%. Following this research, FePt/TiO 2 nanofibers appear to be a key candidate for improving DSSC in photovoltaic performance.
