Metal Free Synthesis of Seven‐Membered Biaryl Sultams

ABSTRACT A concise, metal‐free denitrogenative cyclization of benzothiatriazines was developed for the efficient synthesis of seven‐membered biaryl sultams. This method proceeds under simple thermal conditions and tolerates a broad substrate scope. The mechanistic study indicates that the reaction involves the formation of a diradical intermediate.
