Clinical analysis of 342 cases of childhood measles and its epidemiology

Objective:To investigate the epidemiological changes of measles in recent years and its clinical features.Methods:A retrospective analysis in 342 sick children with measles from Jan 2001 to Dec 2005 treated in our hospital were performed with a epidemiological method.Results:The age of children suffering from measles tended to be lower,the highest incidence rate was in children below 3 years old.Atypical measles increased obviously.The incidence rate of measles in the countryside was higher than that in the city,and the incidence rate was higher in the children who were not vaccinated than in those with vaccination.Conclusion:The incidence rate of childhood measles has a trend to ascend in recent years.Therefore,the surveillance of this disease must be strengthened,and a practical plan of vaccination must be emphasized,which is the obvious direction of our work.
