CONTENT CHANGES OF ANTHOCYANIN, REDUCING SUGAR AND SOLUTABLE PROTEIN DURING THE FLOWER DEVELOPMENT OF PETUNIA HYBRIDA

The development of Petunia hybrida corolla was divided into five phases.The content changes of anthocyanin,reducing sugar and solutable protein in petals during the flower development are investigated respectively. The results showed that the content of anthocyanin and reducing sugar reached to the highest at the beginning of blooming(phase IV). During the development of petals , the trend between the production of anthocyanin and content of reducing sugar was similar. Of the three color flowers, the anthocyanin content in the purple petal was the highest.
